So, last week, Simon had his first two days of day care. He, of course, brought home a horrific cocktail of sinus infection and stomach bug. We are mostly recovered now, but it has been an exhausting week. We really need to find some CON bonuses soon...

Also, I'm going back to school in May! I'm taking Human Sexuality too - should be a fun class to get back into the groove of studying and, say, getting up in the morning.

Ev'rybody! Ok so, last week I was feeling particularly shut off from civilization. I decided to look around for a community for people like me, who are Feminists and have chosen to stay at home. Feminist housewives, you might call them. I was quite surprised when I realized that there wasn't one. So, I harnessed the power of the internet with the help of Emily and made a site. Check it out here: http://www.feministhousewives.com

Let me know what you think!

Simon can stand from sitting on his own AND say "dadada" officially today!

Even though Matthew is certain that Simon said 'Erdös' this morning, I disagree. I think Simon's first word is 'Hey!', as he seems to use that sound a lot when he tries to get our attention. He also hear it used emphatically quite often around here, as in "Hey! Don't chew on the power cord, Simon!"

So...yah...

"Hey Hey Hey Hey!"

The Simonator is mobile! Look out world!

At 2:22 AM, Simon has figured out how to crawl - in pursuit of a bluetooth keyboard, no less.

Now we're in trouble...

The New Kids on the Block in first grade. All of my super cool older cousins listened to them, so I thought that they must be amazing, even if I couldn't figure out why. I would dance on our front porch, performing for the motorists speeding by on the highway with my NKotB tape and my Fisher-Price tape player. I was so awesome.

I'm thinking of allowing Perpetual LIfe members to submit claims and then publishing them on the site.  Why do you all think of this? Also, would anyone be willing to write short claims for the site to get things going?

Thanks,
Erin

The Zombie Insurance site is up and (sorta) running! Please check it out and let me know what you think.  I know it is a bit sparse right now - Curt is working on a logo for me. Check out the 'Get a Quote!' page and look through it. Let me know if you think of anything else that should increase or decrease the 'premium'.

I'm looking into ways to print membership cards and perhaps brochures and t-shirts. Hopefully, it will be a fully operational site soon. If you know of any zombie sites who might like to do a link exchange with me, please get in touch.

Thanks!

So, I feel a bit weird just posting about physical milestones here, but...

Simon cut two of his front bottom teeth today at 2 PM. He's been so fussy and restless the past couple days and now I know why. Poor kiddo.  He can now be a member of the fang club as well as the claw club!

...dumbfounding. I'll start with brilliant.

Today, Emily and Lily came over for one last hang out before they move away to Missouri. Simon and Lily took turns being upset, so we didn't get much talking done, but at least there was togetherness. What is brilliant is this: Lily and Emily were sitting on the floor, so we joined them. Lily was sitting up on her own and when Simon, who had previously only sat up with support, saw her doing it, he just did it! He sat for several minutes without falling over - he even corrected himself. He's such as awesome kiddo!

On to dumbfounding...

One of the guys I grew up with (preschool to kindergarten to elementary school to high school graduation) is in the news today. He apparently seriously beat an autistic child during an exorcism.  I wonder what happened. I remember that he was starting to become very serious about his faith in our senior year, but I also remember him being reasonable about it. I hope this experience helps him realize that he has taken things too far.

I'm glad that I'm recovering from backwards Christianity - who knows how far away I was from what happened to Ed during the height of my 'addiction.
